Synopsis:

A Fairytale Medley is exactly that, a great play for an enthusiastic cast of three, or easily divisible into smaller sections for tiny groups of practicing actors. This silly script integrates different fairytales into an interesting collage of scenes including tableaus, storytelling, recognizable references to modern media, and audience participation. It has been used many times very successfully by a traveling acting troupe that tours to schools, birthday parties, and community events. With a lot of interesting, easily-accessible props and fun twists on traditional fairytales, this play is sure to keep both the performers and audience engaged and amused. There are activities and lesson plans that accompany this play.

Notes:

Synopsis:

You may love Shakespeare's Tragedies, but you've never seen one like this! You'll laugh heartily at this tragedy-turned-comedy, even with the egotistical Iago and manipulating Iago (bom, bom, bom, bom!) directing the blindly-trusting Othello and his friends into distruction. Unlike the original play, nobody dies; they just kick the bucket. . .literally! The play closely follows original Othello storylines and fluently weaves traditional language into modern dialogue while requiring only a minimalist set and a small cast. This modernized, fun and fast-paced version addresses original Shakespearian themes such as death, love, jealousy and betrayal with wit, humour and a cast of wacky characters. The flighty and airheaded Desdemona, an evil laugh-obsessed Iago, the sob-story Roderigo and a fun-loving, lemonade-happy Cassio make this "tragic comedy" both highly entertaining and educational for audiences of all ages.
