Garret Jon Groenveld is a poet, teacher and playwright based in San Francisco. He has an MFA in Poetry and an MA in Playwrighting from San Francisco State University and has studied with Edward Albee at the University of Houston. He has some 100 short plays and full lengths include: "The Absence of Birds", "The Spy", "Missives", "The Voyage of St. Brandæn" and "The Grand Divorce." Involved with PlayGround since it's inception, he's also the company Dramaturg and Education Coordinator. His plays have been presented as part of the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, and he was selected as the first representative of the Sister City Exchange by the Playwrights Foundation. "Missives" received it's world premiere in 2005 at Theatre Rhinoceros in San Francisco.
