Steven Gridley. after moving to New York in 2000, Mr. Gridley formed up with Spring Theatreworks and began writing and directing for the company. Spring developed his plays albatross at Sea, echo's Longingand Sun, Stand Thou Still. echo's Longingwon the Nancy Weil New Play search in 2003 and Sun, Stand Thou Still was selected for publication in Plays and Playwrights 2004 anthology. Other published works include Lovers in the Park,Post-Oedipus (Playscripts, Inc.) and excerpts from Sun, Stand Thou Still in Best Male Monologues 2004 (Smith & Kraus). Mr. Gridley enjoys basketball and recently lost an intermural game by 60 points (34-94). He has since been too busy for basketball because of this "writing" thing.

Post-Oedipus

Synopsis:
Post-Oedipus is a radical re-working of euripides' play the Phoenician Women, chronicling the tumultuous events of Oedipus' family after his fall. Warped time, visual images, musical interjections, chaotic revelries, and intolerable silences are all used to unravel the mental state of the family afterdisaster. Structured around a photo album, Post-Oedipus, uses large frames to "capture" the family in pictures which they fawn over, attempting to glorify themselves in the midst of their turmoil.

Return Of Odysseus, The

Synopsis:
In the Return of Odysseus, a quiet, humble farmer is approached by an eager, young journalist about his experience in World War II. Stationed as a construction worker on Wake Island in the Pacific, the farmer with no military training sank a Japanese ship when the station came under attack-a heroic achievement that the journalist wants to celebrate. But it's what happened after the ship sank that prevents the farmer from talking.
