Elise is a Matilda award-winning actor, having been recognised for her outstanding contribution to Queensland Theatre on three occasions. She is also one of Queensland's exciting new writers. Elise's play The Romany Project was developed with support from Arts Qld, The Australia Council and Playlab and was a critical success as part of Metro's Year of Independents in 2004. Elise's first full length play Creche and Burn was a box office and critical success as part of La Boite Theatre's 2005 mainhouse season and followed this with an extensive 10-week national tour. Elise's next play, The Sweet Science of Bruising, was shortlisted for the 2010 Playwriting Australia Festival and received a workshop reading as part of the festival. Elise is currently writing and performing in Hopelessly Devoted, supported by RaDF. Elise will soon be seen in aBC TV's Prank Patrol and before taking time out to have children appeared in The Year Nick McGowan Came to Stay at La Boite, as the effervescent Maryanne Merrily at the Brisbane Cabaret Festival, in LongGone Lonesome Cowgirls also at La Boite, on television in aBC's East of Everything and in the film Storage. Elise is an acting graduate from USQ and an Honours and Masters graduate from QUT, where she was awarded the University Medal for academic achievement. She also trained with Shakespeare & Company in Boston, USA and has received three Goldie awards for her voice over work.

Creche And Burn

Synopsis:
Sarah is a newly trained childcare worker, it's her first day on the job and she's as keen as mustard. But all the children want to do is play war, take their clothes off, wee on each other, start fires and have food fights. Then there's the parents, a motley crew of single mothers, career women, stay-at-home mums, the grandmother who thinks the childcare centre is the equivalent of a dog kennel and the biker mum who believes breastfeeding is an act of cannibalism. Things couldn't be worse. Enter Robert, the weekend father. He's a gentle guy who just wants to spend quality time with his daughter, but somehow ends up taking the childcare centre hostage. all this and it's not even morning tea!

Sweet Science Of Bruising, The

Synopsis:
Dave is an ex-boxer who runs a dilapidated boxing gym. Liza, his estranged daughter, returns after a 15-year absence to reveal she's dealing with the same disease that killed her mother. Liza has decided against further treatment for the disease. This decision triggers strong opinions and feelings in each of them. Karen, Dave's soon-to-be ex-girlfriend, acts as referee as Dave and Liza fight it out.
