Ella was a member of the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse Young Writers' Programme during which she developed her first full length play Fallen extracts of which were performed at Hampstead Theatre Start Night. Her short play Unspoken was performed at Everyword and her radio play The Rain Has Gone was broadcast on BBC Radio Merseyside. Her play Into the Water received a reading at Everyword 2010 and was shortlisted for the Internationalists Playwriting Competition. She is currently working on her new play, The Deafening Silence, which explores the imprisonment and torture of political prisoners in Burma and the true meaning of freedom. She was shortlisted for this year's Adrienne Benham Award and she is currently writer on attachment to both Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse and Paines Plough in collaboration with Channel 4.
