Susan Gray is a Writer, Performer and Artistic Director from North West London, Harrow. She is currently studying for her PhD at Royal Holloway, focusing on Science Fiction and the Theatre. Plays include: A Christmas Gift (2012), Newshound (2012), Narcissus and Echo - A Bathroom Myth (2012) The Reality Test (2014), Terra Firma (2014) and her recent play SUM (2014), in which she also performed. She is Artistic Director of Stars or Mars Theatre, which stages new writing in Science Fiction. Her monologue collection Notes from Other Worlds and the playtext of SUM have been published by Playdead Press.

Christmas Gift, A

Synopsis:
Dealing with a futuristic interpretation of commodity fetishism, a woman who has captured the final moments of her dying husband with surveillance and notes, pays a corporation to "resurrect" him through a mechanical body for one day at Christmas.

SUM depicts characters who have entered this contract to share these minds between them in a much more intimate way than the illusions that our social media now provide. They question concepts that we have accepted since time began - love, birth, war and loss - and still manage to find their own journeys despite the information that has been shared.
