Allan Graubard is a poet, playwright and critic whose work appears internationally with translations in diverse languages. His plays have premiered in New York, Washington, DC, and Lafayette, Louisiana with European premiers in Lugo and Modena, Italy, Dubrovnik, Croatia, and Sibiu, Romania. Major works include "Revolting Women/Woman Bomb-Sade," "For Alejandra," "Erotic Eulogy" and "Modette," the later two in collaboration with composer-conductor Laurence D. "Butch" Morris. Mr. Graubard's American version of the surrealist classic "King Gordogan," by Radovan Ivsic, opened to acclaim at the Ohio Theater, NY. More recently, his version of Gellu Naum's "Taus Watch Repair Shop" is available through Green Integer Press, LA. Mr. Graubard's selected poems, "And Tell Tulip The Summer," which publishes fall 2011 (Quattro Editions, Toronto) was preceded by the novella "Roma Amor" (Spuyten Duyvil Press, NY). "Roma Amor" and "Woman Bomb/Sade" also appeared in translation in Albania (Princi, Tirana). Other recent works include the two-volume set, "Invisible Heads: Surrealists in North America - An Untold Story" (Anon Edition, in collaboration with Thom Burns), "Hippocampus" (Siren Editions, Portugal; Brumes Blondes, Netherlands), "Fragments from Nomad Days" and "For Alejandra" (New York Press). As literary and theater critic, Mr. Graubard's work appears in Leonardo: The International Society for the Arts, Sciences & Technology (MIT Press), Western European Stages (CUNY), Slavic & Eastern European Performance & Film (CUNY), Pacific Rim Review of Books, and elsewhere. He is a member American PEN Center, New York, and graduate of California Institute of the Arts.
