| After missing a train, a young immigrant waitress contemplates suicide on the subway platform at the 125th St station. What starts as an everyday indulgence, becomes a regression into her darkest fantasies, with elements of the detective story, melodrama, and the absurd. Floridita, My Love is a darkly comic nightmare about the invisible in America, set in the border crossings between the real and the imaginary, Harlem and Morningside Heights, Mexico and New York. | |||||

The play begins when Marti's sister starts dating a businessman who looks, talks, and behaves just like their father. This production is part of the Van Lier Directing Fellowship at Repertorio Espanol. | |||||
