        Honk If You Are Jesus

Honk If You Are Jesus

Synopsis:
Gynaecologist/obstetrician, Mara Fox, is in a dead-end job. Plodding away as Registrar in a public hospital, she's yet to find Mr Right, her father has recently passed away, and her mother wants to marry-her-off to any man she lays eyes on. Mara needs a sea-change - and she gets one when American billionaire, the Reverend Hollis Schultz, headhunts her to head-up experimental obstetrics work at his newly created university on the Gold Coast - with an unlimited budget! But little does Mara know that beneath the veneer of success, cutting-edge science and excitement, she's entering a shady world of genetic manipulation where authority, science and religion collide with ethically catastrophic consequences. Winner of the inaugural Ruby Award for Best New Work and nominated for two Helpmann Awards, Honk If you Are Jesus is a biting satirical comedy about one woman's journey through a minefield bordered by freedom on one side and moral obligation on the other, and where the usual sacred cows have become questionable.
