| Synopsis: | 1930. Zoologist Leon Jefferson has left the university in the South where he was teaching for a research job in the North. His wife who remained behind comes to visit him. He tells her that he is going to Italy to further his researches - she says she probably wont be waiting for him when he gets back. In Italy he meets Helga a German researcher who has come to Italy because women researchers are looked down on in Germany.
