Katie Goan has been active in theatre for the past twenty years. She began performing in plays at the age of 9 (The Nutcracker, airing on NBC), and began writing and directing at the age of 16 (Tuesday Night Live). Katie attended St. Edward's University in Austin, TX where she pursued theatre. She worked as an actor, technician, stage manager, and writer/producer at many local theatres and play festivals around Austin while also participating in school productions. After graduating with a BA in theatre and an unofficial writing minor, Katie accepted an internship at Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts (PCPA) in Santa Maria, CA. Upon completion, she moved to Los Angeles and became a company member of Golden Performing Arts Center. There, Katie performed in many musicals such as Anything Goes, Once Upon a Mattress, and Annie Get Your Gun. It was in LA that she discovered she wanted to run her own theatre company and become a producer of new material. She showcased her work by producing and directing an evening of her short plays at a local theatre in Hollywood. In the summer of 2003, Katie moved to New York City. She began working as an intern at Roundabout Theatre Company, then moved on to assist a theatre/theatrical event Producer and Director at Class Productions. After that, she was hired at Ars Nova to assist the Owners and Producers before finally arriving at The PIT, where she is currently Managing Director. Katie continues to produce and write independently.
