Synopsis: performed by Downtown Arts company of young actors and musicians, ages 12-18. The Piemaker is set in 1978, in a small town in Iowa which is changed by two events: the arrival of a Mexican woman to open a small café, and the return of a native son to base his campaign for Congress there. Maggie Thornton, whose pies are famous across four counties, finds herself and her family at the center of the gathering storm as a secret that underlies her own quiet life comes to light. The show is recommended for kids 7 and up and their families.
