Three Men in a Boat

Three Men in a Boat

Synopsis:
This delightful story has kept audiences laughing for well over a century. Jerome K. Jerome's classic tale of boating misadventure has become the quintessential example of the charm and wit of Victorian England. Originally intended as a guide to boating on the Thames, Jerome's ripping yarn of youthful friendship, mischief and folly celebrates the very essence of Britishness. In an attempt to escape the stresses of city life three friends J, Harris and George plus their faithful canine companion Montmorency decide to take a boating jaunt between Kingston and Oxford. However a trip intended to relax and rejuvenate quickly becomes a journey of unquenchable comedy, with death defying battles with swans, culinary disasters and contrary tea kettles just a few of the challenges facing the trio along the way. In this imaginative, new adaptation, the acclaimed and award winning Original Theatre Company take this classic tale by the scruff of the neck. Full of energy, song and just three actors playing all the characters along with a handful of props create all the high jinks and hilarity of the most famous boating holiday in history.
