One Drop

Synopsis:
One Drop is drawn from a true story of andrea J. Fulton's family in 1800s Louisiana, in which the central character, a mulatto, is faced with the decision of whether or not to "pass." the play depicts the story and the world of Charley, child of a love affair between a black carpenter and the white daughter of a high-born property owner. Though touching on serious issues of power, love, values, loyalty, faith, even American history, playwright Fulton has cleverly constructed One Drop so that it packs a punch with subtlety and charm. the show also boasts original songs with music and lyrics by Ms. Fulton, performed by singers and musicians on banjo, harmonica, guitar, saxophone, bass and percussion.
