Synopsis:

From the guys who brought you Comedy Festival hits Space Race and The Irrefutable Truth About Pet Food, comes BOMBS AWAY - an explosive, brand new comedy-musical where no New Zealand icon is safe (from bombs). It's 2012 in the island nation of New Zealand, and when a bomb-terrorist starts targeting the some of the country's most beloved landmarks, the Prime Minister calls upon the only guys qualified for the job. A.D, Matt and Ben are Bombs Away", 3 bomb disposal experts who couldn't defuse a bomb if their lives depended on it (often the case when it comes to bombs). Armed with courage, teamwork, and song, our unlikely heroes venture on a nationwide journey that takes them everywhere from Kelly Tarlton's to the Waitomo Caves. From Ohakune's giant carrot to the world famous Hobbit Film Set itself. With the country facing a threat to it's identity and tourist viability unlike any it has ever known, it's up to the three least qualified techs in all of the Commonwealth to put aside their differences and sort it out. With a hilarious script from Nic Sampson, Ryan Richards and Barnaby Fredric, complemented by an exciting full length musical score from Joseph Moore, BOMBS AWAY is an absurd and uplifting show that promises to me one of the most unique of the 2012 New Zealand Comedy Festival. BOMBS AWAY is based on the award winning short musical, A Stitch in Time, which competed in and took out the lion's share of the awards at the Short + Sweet Theatre festivals in Auckland and Melbourne. No strangers to the stage or screen, Nic, Ryan, Barnaby and Joseph have written, devised and performed 13 original comedy works for Auckland and Wellington theatres - as well as having performed in and written for numerous NZ Television productions. With impossibly catchy songs, an innovative set and elaborate stage-explosions - BOMBS AWAY is a likely sell-out, and an absolute must see.

An Uproarious and Controversial Piss-Take of the Corporate World! Brace yourself as you are in for turbulent ride. Three comic actors have come together to create a comedy piece that is nothing short of ridiculous! Feel Felt Found is a pseudo-epic uproarious light-hearted look of the world of the SUIT as the corporate Mercedes Benz-driving, conference-calling, high-flying business consultant. The piece will be the journey of one man and the characters that he meets that change him. He journeys through innocence, discovery, power, corruption to eventual downfall and redemption. Whether you work in the corporate sector or not -rest assured- the warped imaginations of this multitalented triumvirate have created laugh-out-loud theatrical punch that will see all the patrons gagging for more!

Notes:

1st performed as a 20 min solo at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in 2008

Synopsis:

The Irrefutable Truth about Pet Food is an absurd, post apocalyptic, musical, solo comedy that runs the gamut from the mundane to the epic. With a style reminiscent of both the low-key realism of The Office mixed with the surreal absurdity of Airplane!, anyone who has ever worked in a dead-end job or seen a Hollywood disaster film will be able to enjoy and identify with the show. In a pet food warehouse, the day begins as the 'New Guy' meets Marcus, an unlucky chump who wants to meet women, despite having never been in a relationship with one. Working in the office is Dee, a lazy fat South African blonde with a passion for pies and novelty songs, and James, their intense boss, obsessed with pet food after a mysterious incident robbed him of his right eye. It seems like an ordinary day at the warehouse. . . until a catastrophic event of global proportions changes EVERYTHING. . . FOREVER.

Synopsis:

Meet Vinnie Septic and his princess siblings, Jacinta and Mutt, for a fable about what not to be when you grow up. From their ramshackle family caravan, complete with a treasure trove of eccentric furnishings, Vinnie is determined to stage a rock show full of lessons from the school of hard knocks. It s not going to be easy his brother is threatening to take up the bagpipes, his sister is a violin virtuoso who wants to be a diva, and Vinnie s hand is looking decidedly green. In between family feuding they ll play you beautiful harmonies on life lessons learnt the hard way. Just don t be surprised when you laugh rather than cry. Described as the best thing since Flight of the Conchords and seriously talented , the Festival is proud to present a new delightfully unwholesome musical show from the wonderful Lonesome Buckwhips team. The show comprises of scripted dialogue with live music, combined with elements of character comedy, slapstick, theatre/cabaret, and gory special effects to create a wicked, interactive, sensory and innovative show.
