Kim Fischer was born in San Francisco and raised in Oakland, California. He graduated from NYU in 2011 with a major in acting. He studied at the Atlantic Theater School and NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing and travelled to Amsterdam to study intensively in Grotowski, physical theater and clowning, and devised work. Wake Up! is his first playwriting endeavor which he wrote and produced at NYU and subsequently took to the New Orleans Fringe Festival in 2011. He is now currently an acting apprentice at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville and will be returning to New York in April 2013.

Synopsis:
How far will one Asian boy go to prove that hes black? Caged in a jail cell he battles the confines of his yellow skin. Provocative and honest, this is a story about trying to understand the meaning of blackness.
