Synopsis: | Digging is about men and how they react to the loss of mothers, wives and teeth. Jack is a successful businessman whose wife of sixteen years has left him for their dentist. Jack has anger, abandonment and alcohol issues. And dentist issues. He's in the midst of a florid nervous breakdown. And he just might have murdered his wife. Chuck is a schizophrenic who lives in a dog house in his elderly father's back yard. At night he digs holes in back yards all over town. He's looking for his mother whom he buried sixteen years earlier. He just can't remember where. Jack and Chuck meet and spend the day drinking and telling each other their stories. They physically travel into each other's flashbacks and as night falls their tales darken too. It all leads to a pair of explosive, violent and very funny confrontations. And a resolution of sorts sealed with, of all things, a kiss. | |||||
