Author of sixteen plays and screenplays., Finlayson's MISFITS and TOBACCOLAND were commissioned and produced by The Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. Her relationship with Greg Hersov and The Royal Exchange began in 1988 when Hersov directed her Mobil Prize winning play, WINDING THE BALL, which won rave reviews as well as a Manchester Evening News Drama Critic's Award for actor David Schofield. Recent projects include UNSUITABLE WIVES, a screen adaptation of Barbara Pym's NO FOND RETURN OF LOVE; a multimedia one-woman show, TRUDI, (written with the aid of a North Carolina Artists Grant); and a stage adaptation of THE OUTCRY by Henry James. A native Texan, Finlayson lives in San Diego CA where she surfs longboards and makes sparkleballs.
