Helluvaguy! A Study in Male Attitudes. In this play, by Agneta Elers-Jarleman, the Swedish author and playwright August Strindberg, "stands up" and tells us about his life, his childhood, the deeply felt loss of his mother when he was thirteen, his strict father and his three marriages. It aims to paint a portrait not only of the famous Swedish nineteenth century author but also of today's modern male. The play begins and ends with the same feeling of loneliness, of being abandoned - in the corner bar. Helluvaguy! has been translated into nine languages and performed at number of theatres in Sweden and abroad. It features ten Strindberg songs i.e., poems by Strindberg set to music by Gunnar Edander.
