Two families are brought together for a funeral in the nineteen sixties. One family is working class, while the other is middle class. The times being as they are leave no love lost between the two sides. Management hate Unions and Unions hate Management. Disrespect is rife because of the release of the working class from servitude. Discipline has disappeared completely. Arguments are constant. Heavy snow turning to rain brings on floods that isolate the house and make both families move up to the bedroom. It gets worse when they all have to move to the roof and their lives are threatened. But this danger makes no difference to their attitude. There's still no compromise. Everyone is still an individual with their own ideas of how to deal with the situation. So who leads who is still their main priority? It's a story that exposes the weaknesses in humans when leadership is weak and those incidents are still with us today but on a larger scale.
