        Habibti         Stories From the 428

Habibti

Synopsis:
Habibti is the coming of age story of Leila, a 15-year-old Lebanese-Australian girl. In the sticky and oppressive Australian summer, the threat of terrorism and the imminent arrival of a controversial white rapper from America fill the imaginations of Leila and her friends. But the real threat Leila has to face is within her family and her past. Veering between fantasy and nightmare, naturalism and surrealism, Habibti is a dark and funny exploration of our terrorised community.
