Synopsis: | A venerable and crusading Fleet Street newspaper is bought by a syndicate. They send a representative to watch over things. The editor has had enough of the interference in his job and resigns and the representative, Archie Pander-Brown takes over. He changes the paper - it now goes in for sensation. He plans to cover the final days of a dying child - but the child dies before they can run the first pictures and article. Then he decides to have female nudes in the paper. Unbeknown to him his daughter poses but once the photographs have been taken she changes her mind and tries to get them pulled. Pander-Brown goes ahead and publishes them - and on the front page. When she sees them the daughter is so upset she accidentally walks in front of a passing lorry. | |||||
