| Synopsis: | The show follows closely Sophocles' play, but adds a number of new scenes to expand the story, and bring into focus the other characters surrounding the main protagonists: Antigone and her uncle King Creon. Antigone is a tale of family struggles set against the background of a repressive government. The story relates how Antigone, Oedipus' daughter, opposes the might of state and family. She knows that her crime will be discovered and that the penalty will be death, but, for her, principles are more important than personal safety and happiness. | |||||
