Merrill Denison was born on June 23rd 1893. His mother, was American but described herself as being an "United empire Loyalist". Merrill studied architecture. In 1921 he became art director at the Hart House Theatre in Toronto. He started writing plays - mainly comedies. In 1926 he married. During the 1960s he began writing histories of Canadian companies. He died on 13th June 1975
