Philip Dawkins is a Chicago playwright and educator. He has performed his play Yes To everything! at the around the Coyote Winter Festival (Chicago) and at Ars Nova (New York). the play has also been performed in Chicago, California, DC, New York, and arkansas. Other plays include: You Gonna eat That? (Healthworks), Ugly Baby (Chicago Vanguard / Strawdog Theatre Company), a Still Life in Color (T.U.T.A. Company), the Man with a Shattered World (ethington Theatre), Saguaro (estrogen Fest, Chicago; estrogenius Festival, NY; 16th Street Theatre, Berwyn, Illinois; Painted Filly, Dublin); Perfect (the Side Project, Chicago), and Cast of Characters (Theatre III, Long Island) , Dead Letter Office (Dog and Pony Theatre Co.). Mr. Dawkins is a Fellow of the Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers in Scotland was a fall 2009 Playwright in Residence at the William Inge Arts Center. His writing has been published in the Stranger and the Packington Review. He is a founding member with eric C. Reda of Chicago Opera Vanguard, and he teaches high school playwriting through Chicago Dramatists and Victory Gardens. He also teaches Kung Fu to little, tiny, Chicago children. Hi-YaH!

Edgar & Ellen: Bad Seeds!

Synopsis:

Einstein's Brains

Synopsis:
IT's ALIVe! Albert einstein's brain, that is. Sci-Fi geek and pizza delivery boy Otto must make the most important delivery of all time when the mad scientist Dr. Harvey Thomas gives Otto and his talking dog, Swamp Thing, the task of safely delivering einstein's brain to a college in Berkeley, where it will be properly studied. Sounds easy, right? Save for a few hilarious distractions (a musical group of preserved body parts, a horde of zombies, and an evil, even madder scientist) it should be a piece of cake! Can Otto and his dog make it to their destination in relatively one piece? Pun intended.

Failure: A Love Story

Synopsis:
1928 is the last year of each of the Fail Sisters' lives. Nelly was the first of the Fail girls to die, followed soon after by her sisters Jenny June and Gerty. as with so many things in life - blunt objects, disappearances and consumption - they never saw death coming. Written by Chicago playwright Philip Dawkins, Failure: a Love Story is a magical, musical fable that traces the sisters' triumphs and defeats, lived out in the rickety two-story building by the Chicago River that was the Fail family home and clock shop. This funny, moving and profoundly wise play reminds us that in the end, all that remains is love.
