Parallax Island

Synopsis:
A woman is on a desert island. A man arrives. They are both there to be alone, and now they're stuck with each other. The parallax effect, in which an object appears to change according to the viewer's position, perfectly describes the distortions of perspective you get in any intense relationship. To her, he's an invader, to him, she's a selfish bitch. Parallax Island is a microcosm of the gender war. Not so much a play, more a performance about the performance of gender, it's about what it means to be a woman, what it means to be a man, and how the hell you escape the paradigm.
