Motor-mouth and Suck-face - an Apocalyptic Love Story

Synopsis:
Motor-mouth and Suck-face are two teen-age geeks in love and lust, desperate to be with one another yet continually thwarted by Motor-mouth's pre-school infatuation - Hilary - who is intent on re-claiming her boy. Then one day at school - a new kid shows up - the mysterious Blasko Tupper - who knows something that none of her classmates know - the world is going to end in three days time. There's only one thing to do - throw a party, kidnap the whole school, break the bad news as gently as possible -- then find a way to blow everyone up just before armageddon to travel safely through a cosmic worm-hole into the next dimension. Simple right? Not quite. Because Blasko's mum and dad are actually part of an international conspiracy to conceal the horrible truth from the planet until it's too late. Fortunately Blasko has drugged them and tied them up in a titanium cage. Unfortunately her parents are experts at mind control and turning teenagers into blood-thirsty zombies, so before long they're on the loose and the party becomes a fight to the death - literally - where the only people who can save everyone turn out to be: Motor-mouth and Suck-face.

Shadow Passion

Synopsis:
Catherine and Robert Harrow are an upper middle class couple living in Canberra, Australia. Catherine is a surgeon, Robert a high level public servant working for the Department of Immigration. They appear successful and comfortable yet they live their private life in anguish because they cannot conceive a child. Their desperation has turned their love-making into a destructive ritual of self-mutilation - one they mistakenly believe can lead to fertility. Into this volatile situation arrives Ali Hadji, an Iraqi refugee recently released from an Australian detention centre on a temporary visa. Ali also wears scars of torture both external and internal. Fleeing the oppressive Sunni regime he has illegally crossed the ocean to secure a new life for his family back in Iraq, only to have his companion son die on the journey. Ali, who is working in Catherine's hospital as a cleaner, strikes up an unlikely friendship with Catherine's terminally ill mother Margaret Winter, an unwilling patient under her daughter's care. When Ali receives news he is to be deported back to Iraq, Margaret is determined to help him stay. Catherine sees Ali and his suffering as the ultimate symbol of fertility and puts pressure upon Robert. But Robert is facing a dilemma of his own as he becomes responsible for a container ship - carrying ninety asylum seekers - headed to Australia. In its path is a storm which threatens the lives of all those on board.

When Sand Becomes Glass

Synopsis:
An educated Indonesian man flirts with a young Australian girl on a Bali beach. A policemen recounts the horror of a terrorist bombing, a muslim woman rages at late night television and two drug traffickers have second thoughts in a cheap hotel room. Set on the eve of the Bali Bombings - each of these stories and many more are interwoven through-out the play, creating a tapestry of modern Australia - colliding with the culture of a mysterious land. Each thread, character and situation revolves around the other - appearing and reappearing, echoing words and events though monologue and scene, satire, drama, shadow puppetry and comedy - before culminating in the event that shook Australia to its core.
