Fiona graduated from the University of Hull with a BA (hons) in 2005. In the same year she was shortlisted for the Orange Playwright Prize for Urban Cowboys. Her first play was given a rehearsed reading with The Playwrights Studio Scotland in the Citizen's Theatre Glasgow. In 2008 she won the David Mclellan Playwright Prize for Wasteland. This award saw the play performed by Nutshell Theatre Company at the Arran Arts Festival. She is currently writing new material and judging the 2009 Mclellan award.
