Born in Wellington in 1949, Jennifer Compton attended drama .school in Auckland for two years. She won the 1975 Newcastle Playwriting Competition jointly with John Romeril with NO MANS LAND (subsequently retitled CROSSFIRE). This play was presented at Sydney's Nimrod Theatre and then in Brisbane and Wellington. She was awarded a State Literary Fund grant and a Katherine Mansfield Memorial award in 1977. Now resident in Martinborough, Jennifer Compton writes stage and radio plays, poetry, short stories, TV soap operas, TV commercials and film scripts. (1979)
