Alistair run his own foundry business manufacturing parts for racing cars in magnesium alloy. Writing pantomimes began by accident when his local village decided put on a pantomime. The home grown script was very weak and he re-wrote the entire ending, receiving a spontaneous round of applause from the cast when the re-write was first tried out. He went on to write and direct three village pantomimes. The experience has encouraged him to try his hand at writing fiction.
