Naveen Bahar Choudhury is a playwright and fiction writer whose work has been produced in theaters and festivals in New York City and around the country. Her plays have been produced, presented, and/or developed by Ensemble Studio Theatre, The New Federal Theatre, Desipina & Co., at Second Stage Theater, and at The Lark Play Development Center. She was a finalist for The Public Theater's 2008 Time Warner Emerging Writers Group. An active participant in the South Asian American theatre community, she is a member of SALAAM Theatre and an alumna member of Desipina & Co. In 2006, she co-founded Desipina CoLab, Desipina's script development wing, and was Co-Artistic Director of CoLab for its first two years. In 2004, she received her MFA in playwriting from the Actors Studio Drama School, where she was a Dramatic Arts Scholar. Ms. Choudhury is a member of The Dramatists Guild.
