Born in Brno, Czechoslovakia (today Czech Republic). Studied Dramaturgy and Playwriting at DAMU-Prague Academy of Performing Arts (Theatre). Already while a student she had several plays performed at theaters in Prague. She also translated a number of plays by Odon von Horvath into Czech. Wrote several produced screenplays as well as a number of short stories. After immigration to the US , Helena became in the Co-Artistic Director of the Orpheum Theater Corporation on Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, where she directed as well as had her own plays produced. After a long sabbatical from playwriting, Helena returned in 2009 with "Love,Sex,Violence etc." at the Whitefire Theatre in Los Angeles. After this critical and audience success, came the even more successful 2010 production of "Love,Sex,and Violence Too" at the same theater.

| A sequel to the successful 2009 play "Love,Sex,Violence, etc". This play also consists of four one acts. The first two ( 'Love, Lies and Lollipops' and 'Boring') are part of the cycle "Couples", while the other two ('Thirteen Months and Two Weeks' and 'The Therapist's Therapist') belong to the cycle "On the Couch" and are about psychotherapists and how their own emotions influence their relationships to clients.
