Jonathan Ceniceroz is an American playwright and screenwriter whose work has been produced and developed by leading regional Theaters throughout the United States. He is a native of Los Angeles, California and earned advanced degrees in writing from UCLa and Brown University. Ceniceroz's work often investigates the intersection of spiritual faith and the pragmatic needs of human desire. His writing provokes discussion and debate and is noted for its intrinsic honesty and high artistic quality. His most well known works in Theater are the plays, "Lupe, Now!" "the Drowning of Natalie Wood," "BIG BRO/lil bro" and "Hole in the Boy." In film he co-authored the international teen horror film, Kill Me Tomorrow and is the writer of Mousy Brown and Der Fisch. Even the Rich Will Suffer

Continuing with the "Blessing of the animals" trilogy, "even the Rich Will Suffer" finds Francisco Guerrero, our modern Southern California version of St. Francis, returning to his childhood home to confront his greedy, materialistic Father and renounce his inheritance in order to better follow God. However, in the process, Francisco also learns just how powerful traditional codes such as masculinity and assimilation factor in with suburban Latinos, and what transpires is a father/son story about acceptance and the possibility of loving one another through great personal and ideological differences.
