JONaTHaN CaSH wrote The First Domino as a response to his survival of the admiral Duncan pub bombing in which he was injured on 30th April 1999. Premiering ten years after the admiral Duncan bombing, The First Domino received the Brighton Festival award for Best Theatrical Performance 2009. Cash studied music for ten years with concert pianist Joan Sheard; wrote the text for Discovery Dance's OUCH! (Greenwich Theatre and edinburgh Festival), sketches and songs for The Treason Show (Brighton Komedia and edinburgh Festival), and music, book and lyrics for a family musical Fagin & Dodger; has contributed features, for Gay Times and attitude magazines; currently writing a play with music called Black Venus, based on the life of Josephine Baker.

Black Venus

Synopsis:
Black Venus is based on a rumour that during WWII, entertainer Josephine Baker was invited to dinner with the second highest-ranking Nazi Hermman Goering. It was said that Goering invited Josephine to dinner, suspecting (correctly) that she worked for the French Resistance and tried to kill her. Told in a Brechtian way with original songs and flashbacks, the play deals with themes of occupation, sex and personal beliefs.

First Domino, The

Synopsis:
Copeland, a convicted bomber residing in a top-security prison, agrees to meet a new member of staff. a doctor is researching an academic paper about the management of sociopathic offenders and wants to interview the prisoner. as a strange relationship develops over a period of time, we are confronted with the bomber's beliefs and through him, we challenge our own. Cat and mouse games begin and neither doctor or prisoner are what they seem. as secrets are revealed, reality blurs and the audience is taken on a terrifying journey ending with a shocking denouement in a theatrical tour-de-force.
