Biography of Kayla Cagan

Kayla Cagan has worked as a writer and interdisciplinary theater artist regionally and in New York City. Her work has been seen at Mabou Mines, Soho Rep, The Actors Studio, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, The Juilliard School, Lincoln Center, The Berkshire Theater Festival, and The KGB Red Room. Her play, Blue in the Face, was an Actor's Theater of Louisville Heiddemann Award Finalist. Blue in the Face, Roller Coaster, and Halasana were part of the Tex in the City 4 Your Consideration Series at the Gershwin Hotel in 2004; Roller Coaster was produced by Ruby True Productions in 2004. The Lower East Side Project, which she originally dramaturged and eventually scripted, was produced at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in 2004 and at the 440 Studios in 2005. In May 2006, Halasana was produced at the Drama Book Shop Arthur Sheenan Theater. Kayla is a member of LMDA, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. She currently works in the Manhattan Theatre Club Education Department. play, Roller Coaster, will be in the June 2007 Sam French Festival
