This is the Chinese version. Aladdin is crippled with a leg injury from childhood. He falls in love with Jade the daughter of a rich local man who will not permit them to see each other. Jade has not fallen in love with Aladdin though she does like him. Aladdin goes off to seek his fortune and finds the cave, the genie in the lamp and the slave of the ring. His wishes come true, one of which is to cease to be crippled and he becomes rich. But his personality changes with his fortune and he is not a nice person. The other wish made Jade love him but she loves him as an automaton with the spell and not with her heart. Jade is poisoned by the wicked Avasneezer and the only way she can be saved is for Aladdin to give up his wishes (he will be crippled and poor). He does so . Jade then loves him with her heart. Her parents are so grateful to Aladdin for giving up everything to save her that they let the lovers marry.
