David Boone, born 22 Sept 1974, is a Theatre Instructor in Memphis and teaches part time at nights at Messick Adult Center, where he teaches English and Theatre. He has taught school for 16years and is certified in five subjects in Tennessee. In 2014, he directed "Nora's Lost", which received two All-Star Cast nominations at the Tennessee Theatre Festival In 2012, he lead his high school to state Runner-Up for "The Yellow Boat", he directed and Overall Technical Achievement in 2013 for "Crow and Weasel". Boone directed, "Annie Get Your Gun", and "My Fair Lady", both productions in DeSoto County won over 17 awards each combining for 34 North Mississippi Theatre Alliance Awards. Named the DeSoto County Teacher of the Month for February 2010 for DeSoto Central High School. Boone wrote "Borders" which won Play of Distinction at the North Mississippi Theatre Festival, Two-All Star Cast awards and Best Scenic Design. The play was performed at Mississippi State University and was selected to be performed at The University of Mississippi, Oxford, Mississippi at the Ford Center. After the state festival was concluded Rebel VERSE 2007 in New York produced the piece and produced it at Center Stage. Boone also wrote and directed "Jack Nimble" at The University of Southern Mississippi and the Dramatists Guild of America in 2004. While at DeSoto Central from 2005-2012, Boone started Thespian Troupe 7261, which had over 75 members. Boone is also a local theatre director and received the Alley award for Best Director of a drama for "The Insanity of Mary Girard". Boone also started the first theatre letter jacket for students at the high school. His theatre department was nominated for 19 alley award nominations for 2005-06 season. While at DeSoto Central High his theatre department was chosen five consecutive years to the American High School Theatre Festival in Scotland. Boone received his Bachelors of Arts from Louisiana Tech University, Masters of Education, from William Carey University, and Doctorate of Counseling from Andersonville Theological Seminary, and Honorary Doctorate of Literature degree. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity, Associate member of the Dramatists Guild of America who represent his work, S.E.T.C. member, member of Mississippi Theatre association where he served as IEF Chair from 2005-2007. He wrote Live Oak , which was produced at the Johnny Carson Theatre, Lincoln, Nebraska in 2009 and Oak Ridge Burned , which was featured at The International Thespians Freestyle Theatre Event, Johnny Carson Theatre, Lincoln, Nebraska. His directing projects of Two Rooms and I Never Saw another Butterfly were the Chapter Selects of Mississippi in 2009 and 2010. Boone is a proud member of actors' Equity, Stage Directors and Choreographers Union and The Dramatists Guild of America. In 1995 he received the State of Louisiana playwrighting award for his play The Solitary Soul and Back to Back Irene Ryan Acting nominations. Boone also started a theatre company, "DeSoto County Players", and owns his business, "Boone's Scripting and Design."

Synopsis:
Will also be produced at the 2008 S.e.T.C. National Convention Fringe Festival. the Blacksburg Project is a docuDrama about the survivors, community leaders, teachers and community members of Blacksburg, Virginia. It follows the lives and recovery of people who are healing from this tragedy. the story revolves around aNNa, a local journalist caught up with catching the story when she finds out her best friend, Reema lost her life, her life Dramatically changes.

Synopsis:
BORDeRS was first produced by DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, Mississippi at Colonial Hills Performing Arts Center under the direction of David Boone. the play was produced in the North Mississippi theatre Festival at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. the play is a docuDrama about Immigration in America. the piece is extremely beneficial to teaching Immigration on the high school or community college level. It helps the students see what Immigrants had to face and especially those living in our era go through everyday while shopping at Kroger's in the south or living in New York City after 911. the piece focuses on southern issues with Mexican Immigrants coming from Mexico. This piece is very powerful filled with many monologues.

Live Oak

Synopsis:
Live Oak tells the story of Jerry, an older man dying of cancer and he feels that he must ask his mother-in-law to forgive him for eloping with her daughter twenty nine years ago before he dies. the mother-in-law, Catherine, is dying and is happy to see Jerry but the memories of him eloping with her daughter, Marie is too much for her to handle. Marie left her husband after a few years into the marriage when she discovered that something was wrong with her baby boy. She refused to believe that something was wrong and left to meet a man she meet on the internet in Minnesota. as Catherine breaks down she lets some skeletons out of the closet and ask him to forgive her of some things that she knows about. as the play comes to a resolution secrets come out that push Jerry over the edge.

Synopsis:
Oak Ridge Burned begins after a mother and daughter return from a funeral of one of their family members. after drinking and talking things come out in the air, skeletons are brought out only to pull apart the love that the mother and daughter have for each other.

Solitary Soul, The

Synopsis:
the One Man psychoDrama was entered into the Kennedy Center American College theatre Festival. at the Louisiana College theatre Festival the play received the Original Playwrighting award in 1995 and an Irene Ryan acting award to attend the University of Oklahoma. the play revolves around Hebdon Ballentino who is seeing an imaginary counselor and discussing his life issues with his imaginary parents. He is a recluse who has been rejected by family, church people and his peers. Left only believing that someone cares he deals with his issues alone. He contemplates taking his own life. the play was produced at BCC in Shreveport, Louisiana, the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
