| Synopsis: | When a fairy godmother grants a gay classmate's vengeful wish, "Killer" Kerrigan, the homophobic quarterback of the Lincoln High football team, is magically transformed into a homosexual. The football star learns what life is like on the other side of the pom-poms, and the gay student discovers that you better be careful what you wish for. Andrew Black was inspired to write Slingbacks after seeing the movie Freaky Friday in which a mother and daughter trade bodies. The mother learns from the experience of walking in her daughter's shoes and vice versa. He wondered what a heterosexual might learn if he suddenly and inexplicably became gay. This comedy-with-heart is the answer to that question. - nytheatre.com | |||||
