Notes: | Part of In The papers! This is a mini-festival of four new short plays by women writers. NPTC's award-winning Women's Work Project returns with the fruits of this year's LAB. Artistic director Melody Brooks asked new members to take on the theme of In the Papers! This choice takes into account the increasing media frenzy of 24-hour news channels, the blogosphere, and endless Facebook and Twitter updates as well as the recent Arizona "Papers Please" law. Each writer found her own take on this theme-from literal perspectives to more metaphorical explorations of what it means to be "without papers."
Synopsis: | Set in the Texas Hill Country, Quimera on the Storm by Rosebud Ben-Oni, directed by Melody Brooks, is a poetic homage to the people who have left their mark upon a land, and the question of who "belongs" in any particular place.
