Synopsis: | The Black Cockerel takes place from 1985 to 1992 in the African country of Angola. Young Jack Abramoff before he became a notorious Washington D.C lobbyist is sent to Angola to meet with Jonas Savimbi, guerrilla fighter and leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola, fighting for independence from Portugese colonialism. Savimbi described himself as "The Black Cockerel," he was restless, ambitious and never compromised. But did he achieved his ultimate goal in life, and was his friendship with the US government strained? | |||||
