Andrew was born in New York. Received his MFA from the Iowa Playwright's Workshop at the University of Iowa. In 2005 he was one of the dramatists in residence at the Royal Court London. He has written the book and lyrics for several musicals and is one of the writers for the tv series "Sleeper Cell".
