Synopsis: | Monowicze, one of the Auschwitz labour camps. It is 1945, one week before the Russians arrive to liberate the camp. Menachem Stressler, a German Jew, the beekeeper, has survived for three years by harvesting honey for his German enslavers. In the days leading up to the liberation an incredible power struggle develops between Stressler and the camp Kommandant Richard Baer as both men struggle with their conscience(s) and seek a return to faith and redemption. | |||||
