Synopsis: | focuses on Sarajevo, that Balkans hotspot where east meets west and peace turns to war. A US judge, Barbara, has been appointed to the panel of international judges at the state court of Bosnia-Herzegovina hearing evidence of war crimes. Her husband, Jeff, is a sound installation artist, currently making apiece for the Charles Bridge in Prague and wonying about the mounting costs of his daughter Tanya's wedding. Can Barbara and Jeff's relationship survive the distance? Which flowers will Tanya settle on for the big day? Do we care? Buried deep within this busy show is an interesting idea: how is it possible to speak authentically, to tell the truth? When Jeff splices some of the testimony from the court hearings into his sound installation, is he helping it to be heard as widely as possible, or simply using others' misery for his own artistic gain? "Where will it end?" demands Barbara. "Genocide - the Musical?" | |||||
