Cafe De La Tristesse

Synopsis:
the story of two very delicate creatures, each of whom lacks a certain sense, falling in love as a they discover ways in which they complete each other. This play is inspired by Rene Magritte's surrealist painting the Portrait, which displays the caption "What a horrible meal!" over an image of a bottle of wine next to a plate of ham with a human eye staring out from the middle of the meat.

Doctoring

Synopsis:
In Doctoring, a comedy of misunderstandings, Sheri requests a small favor from her best friend, Brian, who works in a Doctor's office, thus setting off a chain reaction of fiascos, the sorting out of which requires one too many people to reveal one too many secrets. First in the confines of Doctor's office, then in the less clinical boundaries of Sheri's apartment, the best friends each allow unrequited desire to morph into infatuation, thus exposing the consequences of obsession.

Layla And Majnun

Synopsis:
Layla, a young Iranian-American living in Southern California, cares for her speechless Father in an empty apartment in the weeks after the 9/11 attacks. Here, Layla reads de Tocqueville, wears a gas mask, and is visited by Majnun, a character from an Iranian folktale, while she struggles to identify a heritage she has never truly known.

Pardon My Queen

Synopsis:
the King has died, and the subjects of the realm allow the Queen to retain her throne on one condition, she must ensure the sanctity of the royal marriage bed by remaining celibate. Having hastily fired all her staff except for the Jester, she lives alone in the confines of the castle with her two young daughters. In this play about the dangers of putting on a show, the Queen's lustful desire for Jester proves just as burdensome as the weight of reign and the plight of motherhood.

Strangers

Wes and ella's "Greencard" marriage has lasted five years to date. When Ella insists on throwing a party to celebrate their successful union, Wes's unease about the relationship surfaces. the lovers separately enlist help and advice from others on how to handle their growing anxieties. This seeking of council forces both their circle of friends, and complete strangers to confront some of their greatest fears about how they choose to live and love in this modern age. the age of American Film Noir serves as an allegorical backdrop for Wes and ella's ill-fated contemporary love story with periodic appearances from iconic figures "Femme Fatale" and "Detective." Written in response to interviews and research on the topic of immigration, Strangers employs live music and video to explore our national identity and cultural mythology.

War Is Over, The

Synopsis:
the Speaker of the Day, Max Underwood and his Right Hand Man, Bradley Taylor, lead the country in a battle against the enemy (who is said to be growing weary). In this America, war consistently wages at the border and mini-golf is the nation's favorite pastime. In an attempt to stop the war, Samantha Underwood and Jane Taylor join the rebellion, the War against the War, and the battle that was once isolated at the border, comes home, putting the Underwoods and the Taylors at the core of the conflict.
