A native Texan, Johnna has been writing plays for over 15 years. She currently lives in Los Angeles and has several plays in development. Johnna's plays COCKFIGHTERS and THE SACRED GEOMETRY OF S&M PORN were published by Original Works Publishing in 2006. Rude Guerilla Theater Company produced THE SACRED GEOMETRY OF S&M PORN to sold-out crowds in November 2005, and the play won the 2006 Best New Play award from the critics at the OC Weekly. The Oberon Theatre Ensemble produced COCKFIGHTERS at the Jan Hus Playhouse (New York, NY, 2003). COCKFIGHTERS won the Orange County Weekly's 2002 Best Play Award, a silver medal in the 2003 Pinter Prize, and was a finalist in the 2002 National Arts Club Playwrights First Award. She has recently attended workshops with Paula Vogel, Mac Wellman, Leon Martell, Jose Rivera, and Noah Haidle. She holds a BFA in acting and playwriting from DePaul University's Theatre School.
