Synopsis: Tommy Boyle, thinking his father has died, persuades Dan Murphy to impersonate the dead man for the purpose of making a will. After a hurried make-up, Dan jumps into bed and poses as the dying man. The schoolmaster arrives to make the will. Finally, he starts to make a new will, but old Andy, the supposed dead man, appears on the scene. This is rollicking comedy in Ulster dialect at its raciest, but is playable in any dialect. The play won three trophies and gained first place for Scotland in the S.C.D.A. festival of 1948.

Synopsis: This is an excerpt from Agnes Adam's three-act play, Cranford which was originally produced by the Wilson Barrett Repertory Company with great success. The delicate charm and humour of the novel have been successfully captured and the play has the lavender and lace charm of the Victorian era. Here are the gentle and loveable Miss Matty - the primly correct Miss Pole Miss Barker who once had a miliinery shop but who would not sell a cap or a ribbon to anyone who had not a pedigree and others of the Cranford circle who delight us with their reactions to a burglary scare. 'Good plays for all-women casts are few, but we are convinced this is one of them".

Synopsis: Mr. and Mrs. Boyd have spent twenty-five years of married life pulling in opposite directions. The love affair of their daughter, Jean, seems to be going smoothly and Willie Campbell asks Mr. Boyd's consent to the marriage. Alas, Willie ought instead to have asked Mrs. Boyd's consent. When she hears that her husband has consented willingly and warmly to the wedding, she at once takes up a position of firm opposition. Things are at a deadlock until Jean thinks of a plan, for which she needs her father's co-operation. The plan is not a matter of hot words and argument, but of cool, calculated diplomacy. The father consents, unwillingly, but as the plan progresses, he thoroughly enjoys himself and indeed almost over-acts. The plan succeeds, Jean and her father winning, but the mother equally certain that she is the winner. A rural comedy full of fun and laughter.

Synopsis: Peter, a man of peace, is married to Sarah, a widow, who completely dominates him. He is very long-suffering, but reaches the end of his tether when Sarah makes him a complete suit of clothes. Her former husband, a sea-faring man, supposed to have been drowned ten years ago, turns up when Peter is alone in the house. The two husbands have a heart to heart talk and the problem is, which of the two is to remain with Sarah, who considers herself a "pearl of great price". Neither wants to remain but Peter finally agrees, but with knowledge in his possession which, as the sailor points out, will make him "captain" of the ship and Sarah a mere "deck hand". A hilarious comedy with good scope for character acting.
