Notes: Williams began his career in 1927 and went on to become one of Wales first leading film stars, playwrights and theatre producers, performing with such leading lights of the age as Bette Davis and Deborah Kerr. Almost twenty years on he met up with and became a guru to another Welsh actor who was to go on to achieve even greater international fame, the boy from Pontrhydyfen Richard Burton. He gave Burton his first West-End role playing Glan, the elder son of the landlord, Job, in a play set in the back parlour of the Druids Rest, a small public house somewhere in Wales. - theatre-wales.co.uk | ||||
