Synopsis: | Paul and Tony work in an ad agency as art director and writer. As the play opens they are struggling to come up with a concept for Eazisoft toilet paper, when Larry, an Account Director, appears with bad news. Their largest account has been taken over by an American chemical multi-national which has decided to realign its advertising worldwide. They will have to repitch. Paul is immediately worried what would happen if they lose the business - he has a credit-card hungry partner, Liz, and has just taken on a big mortgage. Later Tony researches the new American owners and discovers they are big in pesticides and insecticides as well as toiletries. Not only that, but products which are banned in the USA and much of the world are still being sold by them to some developing countries. This puts Paul and Tony in a great dilemma: they don't believe they should work on the business. Yet, if they refuse to, they could be sacked; knowing that, if they lose the business, they could lose their jobs anyway.

Synopsis: | If Scotland can get back the Stone of Scone, Greece wants the Elgin marbles back and India wants its Koh-i-noor diamond, why shouldn't Wales have Stonehenge back? Inspired during a walk in Pembrokeshire's Preseli Hills, Roy Brown forms Carreg Las (Welsh for 'Blue Stone') and sets about trying to enlist the support of members of the Welsh Assembly with little success. But when a local eco-community is about to be evicted, Roy uses the resulting media coverage as a platform for his own campaign. The campaign soon gathers momentum as stunts such as blocking the Severn Bridge with camper vans are staged.Roy even gets a local theme park to sponsor the removal of Stonehenge back to Pembrokeshire. They can see distinct possibilities of the attraction, especially when coupled to a new white-knuckle ride. . .Everything appears to be going well until Roy starts receiving more mail, some of which appears to be from irate Druids who remind him in no uncertain terms of Stonehenge's association with sacrifices, and how he could be instrumental in revitalising the ritual. . .

Synopsis: | A woman shares a revelation with her friend about her recently deceased husband. A man meeting a woman on a blind date has unforeseen consequences. When an MP meets a journalist who will come out on top? Two apparent strangers meet in a pub, but appearances can be very deceptive, especially when one can't keep her thoughts to herself. And when a young man carrying a suspicious bag comes in, why do thoughts turn to terrorism? The five short plays that make up 'Calling Time' all take place in the bar of a pub over a single evening. Each is a self-contained comedy in its own right; light, dark, intriguing, thought-provoking or just downright funny. . . they're all hugely enjoyable!

Synopsis: | In the security control room of The Oaks shopping centre, Rich is coming on duty for the night shift, relieving Alex and Jane, two other guards. Alex is decidedly non-PC with a penchant for zooming in the CCTV cameras onto unsuspecting women shoppers. Rich is far more conformist and rather pedantic in his attitudes, but he has obviously learnt to put up with Alex's childish behaviour. Jane has a penchant for shopping with a capital S and is a bright, rather feisty addition to the security team. It is, it seems, an ordinary evening at The Oaks - until the arrival of Keith, a robber of quite breathtaking incompetence, intent on robbing the shopping centre. . . Alex : 20-40, security guard, treats most things as a bit of a joke (127 spoken lines) Rich: 30-50, security guard, treats things far more seriously (158 spoken lines) Jane : 20-40 security guard, treats shopping with reverence (98 spoken lines) Keith: 20-40 would-be robber, treats himself to anything he can lay his hands on (145 spoken lines)

Synopsis: | We live in a celebrity-obsessed society. So, when minor-celebrities measure their success on how many times they have appeared on a reality TV show and how often they are recognised in the street, what must it be like for them to lose their looks overnight? In Celebulite, we meet Victoria Ingram-Brown - who wakes up one morning to discover she has aged 20 years - and Russell, who has put on five stone. Both turn up at their agents, Hobson Associates, to discover that he has moved offices and the cleaner, Katherine, can't (or won't) provide any information. Their frustration and anger builds as they contemplate what their futures will be now that their appearance has so radically changed. For Victoria it is devastating, while Russell is slightly more philosophical. But everything changes again when Margery, Harry Hobson's PA, arrives on the scene. Is something altogether more sinister happening, or is this reality TV gone mad? Celebulite examines the cult of the celebrity in a witty yet thought-provoking way. Victoria: 30-40, actor who appears middle-aged but believes herself to be only 25. (273 spoken lines) Russell: 25-35, looking overweight, but claims to be five stones lighter than he appears. (224 spoken lines) Katherine: 20s to 50s, woman cleaner - a 'job's worth' who won't stand any nonsense. (54 spoken lines) Margery: 30s to 50s, PA to the owner of Hobson Associates. Calm, professional, a bit scary probably. (41 spoken lines)

What she fails to disclose is that he is a publisher of porn magazines. Judy is married with a young child and Ann is still single, but happy working in a dress shop. As their talk continues, and more drink is consumed, they begin to disclose more and more about their private lives. And when Carol suggests playing a kind of truth game, secrets they have kept hidden for years emerge with disastrous consequences.

Synopsis: | The eco policies of successive governments have failed. When a series of volcanic explosions in Iceland (and the resulting blanket of dust and ash) cause the country to be plunged into a 'year without summer', it only serves to mask the vastly increasing build up of greenhouse gases, storing up disaster on an ever larger scale. Subsequently, the imminent general election is contested by the newly formed Reality Party which sweeps to power on the back of greatly heightened public concern for the environment. Living at the end of a peninsula, George is happily retired and an example to everyone of how to practise sustainable living. His son, Brian, is a councillor and member of the Reality Party whose policies directly conflict with George's lifestyle. No longer, for example, are old people allowed to live alone in properties which are larger than their needs. A decision which George bitterly resents and protests loudly about. Brian is intent on forging a high-flying political career for himself and sees his father's stance and resistance to the party's policies as a major hindrance to his ambition, with George's grandson, David, caught up in the subsequent drama.

Synopsis: | Joanne is a woman haunted by her ex-lover, Philip. She is convinced he is stalking her. Then an envelope is delivered, containing nude photographs of her. Angrily she tears them up just before her present boyfriend, Simon, arrives. When he discovers a piece of torn photograph Joanne admits it was Philip who took the shots. Later she also tells her best mate, Hillary, of her fears about Phillip. Back at Joanne's flat, a parcel is delivered. Joanne refuses to open it, believing it to be from Phillip and Simon opens it. With horror he sees what appears to be a penis in the package. It is in fact a moulded rubber one which Philips has made. Later Phillip tells us about Joanne's penchant for casts. How she progressed from hand casts in plaster to casts of her various 'conquests'. Finally we are in Joanne's flat. Philip walks into the room. It is obvious that neither Joanne nor Simon see him. When he comes behind Joanne and touches her she screams but still doesn't see him. Despite her pleas, Simon tells her he has to go. When Joanne returns to the room, Philip walks to the lightswitch and switches off the light.

They are all, in their different ways, wanting to assert their independence and not rely on men. Jo doesn't like men full stop. Linda has recently discovered that her husband has been having an affair with a woman twenty years her junior, and sees the DIY class as being a diversion. Helen has recently been widowed and views the class as a necessary thing to do. Tracy has had a history of problems with men and is just waiting for the right man to come along. During their conversations we discover that Tracy has 'met' someone in an Internet chat room and is planning to meet him properly for the first time the second week& Their various attitudes to men are explored, and become more acute after a fateful visit to an art class, instigated by Linda.
