After a very successful career in advertising, a kidney transplant in 1975 triggered him to abandon the business and return to his childhood ambition of being a writer. He wrote poetry, six novels (three published), short stories, plays and screenplays. His play, The Judgment of Paris, premiered at the Festival of Perth in 1997 and has been performed in Sweden. Mr. Warnock, also a well-known activist in Perth, died suddenly of cancer in June 2001.
