Synopsis: | For these plays, there is no curtain, no footlights, no stage. Just six site-specific, short related plays from Women's Project Theater Company written for the lobbies, mezzanines, escalators, bridges, nooks, and crannies of the World Financial Center complex, 220 Vesey Street, that people pass through every day. The plays, grouped under the title Global Cooling: The Women Chill, share one topic: global warming is not so hot. All written, directed, and produced by women, these plays take place in real time and touch on the issues of Global Cooling that affect not only real people but scientists and mother nature. Global Cooling: The Women Chill is the third site-specific theatrical event Women's Project has delivered to artsWorld Financial Center and is another installment of 'hit and run theater' where business people, tourists and shoppers traveling through the World Financial Center may walk around, through or in a play without even knowing they have a role in the performance. Part of this experiment from Women's Project's playwright, director and producer lab is to see how real people react as a play happens next to them or around them or even with them

Synopsis: | It is the day of the auditions for the school production of "Annie" and Andy knows which part he wants. The town is in a bad way and in desperation the Mayor has written to television host Betty Sweet for help. Andy arrives for the audition dressed in a red dress as Little Orphan Annie. He is derided by everyone. The Mayor says that he would never cast someone like him in the part. Only the new girl in town, Zorah, stands up for Andy. A photograph of Andy in the dress is leaked to the newspapers and the town becomes the laughing stock of America. Andy dreams of Mary Martin playing Peter Pan. Betty Sweet arrives and takes Andy to appear on her show where he will be cured and made into a proper boy. He is put into a mock up of his own room and told that unless he apologises and accepts being changed he will stay there forever. He refuses. Betty Sweet tells him that his mother has run off - so Andy agrees. On Betty's live programme he sees Mary Martin flying as Peter Pan and refuses to apologise. Zorah has rallied the school kids and they descend on to the television set - all dressed as Annie. Back in town Andy suggests that they put on a show that he has written to raise money. Mary Martin turns up and leads everyone in the final song of the show.
